However sad and complex his past seems, Frenchie may just be making all that up to hide his true identity. The very first mission that The Boys undertake in the comics is that of tailing Teenage Kix, another superhero team created by Vought.

And the only reason he lives to tell the tale is because of medical treatment engineered by Vought-American. Thereafter, he takes the loss of a limb in stride and adds a Napoleonic hat to his ensemble. An important storyline in the comics takes place in Russia, where The Boys travel to figure out why so many Supes are losing their heads in an explosive manner.

Butcher believes an unstable form of Compound V might be at fault. Love Sausage, and they start their investigations. But they soon begin to feel as if someone is following or keeping tabs on them, and Frenchie is even able to catch the men who had been tailing them.
